Mission Statement

I am a passionate educator on a mission to bring experiential learning opportunities to under-resourced populations. I feel strongly that building parent leadership and fostering community ownership in schools is an important step toward creating a culture of education as empowerment. I spend my time as a teacher, a museum educator, and a community arts advocate trying to create learning environments that act as a resource and supplement to classroom teachers and formal education. This blog documents my thoughts, projects, experiences, and lessons I’ve learned along the way. Please don’t hesitate to share ideas, comments, or feedback.
